Weddings at St Columba's

If you would like to be married in St Columba's, the first step is to contact the priest-in-charge who will give guidance and agree a date. Please make sure you have done this before making a firm booking with a hotel for the reception.

You do not have to be a member of St Columba's to be married here: we will welcome you at any time. As an alternative, the priest in charge may be willing to conduct a service for you in another location.

Clergy of the Scottish Episcopal Church, including those at St Columba's, are permitted to marry those who have been divorced. Please speak to the priest for more information if this is your position.

The local Registration Office has information on the legal issues involved in marriage in their leaflet Getting Married in Scotland and it is advisable that couples familiarise themselves with this early on in the proceedings. The priest will give advice about music, flowers and other practical matters. If you have any questions relating to the service itself, simply ask the priest.

St Columba's seats about 60 people comfortably, but sometimes we can accommodate more.

Fees

There are no set church fees for weddings (although you will normally have to pay for an organist, if you want one). However, you may wish to make a financial contribution to the ministry of the church as part of your own giving thanks to God.
